Places of Highest Rainfall

Mount Waiʻaleʻale records an average rainfall of about 426 inches since the year 1912. The highest rainfall in this place is recorded at 683 inches in the year 1982. This mount is considered as one of the wettest places. This is found at an elevation of 5148 feet which is the second highest point in the Kaua’i islands of Hawaii.
  
Lloró is a municipality and town in Columbia and holds the world record for highest average annual precipitation, estimated at 523.6 inches (13,300 mm)




Mawsynram is a village 55 Kms from Shillong(Meghalaya).It is reportedly the wettest place on Earth, with an annual rainfall of 12,981mm (511.1 inches). According to the Guinness Book of World Records Mawsynram received an incredible 28,000 millimetres (1,100 in) in 1985


Cherrapunj is credited as being the 2nd wettest place on Earth. However, nearby Mawsynram is most wettest place nowadays, and both are surpassed by Llora.Columbia.
The city of Cherrapunji is 1,290 meters above sea level and much of the torrential rains run off the mountains into the valley below, which receives an annual rainfall of 1,270 cms
