Dividing Uttar Pradesh


Mayawati's BSP Government's Resolution to Divide Uttar Pradesh into 4 parts - Purvanchal (Eastern UP), Harit Pradesh (Western UP), Bundelkhand and Awadh Pradesh (Central UP) was tabled by CM Mayawati and passed by a voice vote on Monday Nov 21,2011, the first day of Uttar Pradesh Assembly's winter session.

Soon after the resolution to divide the state was passed, the Vote on Account, too, was moved and passed by the Assembly following which the House was adjourned indefinitely(sine die)
 
Earlier in the day, the assembly was adjourned for an hour amid uproar created by SP,BJP and Congress  MLA over 'No-Confidence Motion' and Resolution on Division of UP


The winter session of Parliament began with an uproar in the Lok Sabha as Opposition MPs stalled the proceedings demanding a discussion on Mayawati's resolution to split the state into four - Nov 22,2011
