Michael Fred Phelps


Michael Fred Phelps (DOB June 30, 1985) is an American Swimmer who has, overall, won 16 Olympic Medals -
6 Gold and2 Bronze at Athens in 2004and
8 Gold at Beijing in 2008
becoming the most successful athlete at both of these Olympic Games

Michael Fred Phelps has twice equaled the record 8 medals of any type at a Single Olympics achieved by Soviet Gymnast Alexander Dityatin at the 1980 Moscow Summer Olympic Games.

Michael Fred Phelps holds the record for the most gold medals won in a single Olympics; his 8 at the  2008 Beijing Olympics Games has surpassed American swimmer Mark Spitz's 7-gold performance at Munich Olympic Games in 1972.


Michael Fred Phelps overall 16 Olympic Medals is second only to the 18 Medals by Soviet  Gymnast Larisa Latynina won over 3 Olympics.


Michael Fred Phelps also holds the all-time  record for most gold Olympic medals, at 14.
