Usain Bolt(Jamaica)


Usain St. Leo Bolt(DOB Aug 21,1986) is a Jamaican Sprinter and 5 time World and 3 time Olympic Gold Medalist.Also he is the World Record and Olympic Record Holder in 100m and 200m and (along with his teammates) the 4x400m relay.


Usain Bolt wins Gold Medal in 100 m and 200m in 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics(Aug 8-24,2008) -

This made him the 1st man to win three sprinting events at a single Olympics since Carl Lewis in 1984, and the1st man to set world records in all 3 at a single Olympics

Usain Bolt won the gold medal in 2009 World Championships in Berlin,Germany(Aug 15-23,2009) -

100 m and 200 m world records to 9.58 seconds

Usain Bolt's personal best of 9.58 seconds in the 100 metres is the fastest ever legal time.


This made him the first man to hold both the 100 and 200 m world and Olympic titles at the same time.

His achievements in Sprinting have earned him the media Nickname "Lightning Bolt" and awards including the IAAF World Athlete of the Year 2009,
Track & Field Athlete of the Year 2009 and
 Laureus Sportsman of the Year 2009

Usain Bolt has also won gold medal in the 13th IAAF World Championships in Atheletics held in Daegu,South Korea(Aug 27-Sep 4,2011)

IAAF World Athlete of the Year Award  2012


Usain Bolt won the IAAF World Athlete of the Year award for the 4th time(previously won in 2008,2009 and 2011) on Saturday Nov 24,2012 after defending his 100 and 200 meter gold medals in 2012 London Olympic Games. 

Sprinter Allyson Felix of the United States took home the women's award.
