Guru Gobind Singh Refinery (GGSR)


Guru Gobind Singh Refinery (GGSR)is a refinery in village Phulokheri,Bhatinda,Punjab State,India owned by Hindustan Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) a joint venture between -
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited(HPCL)and
Mittal Energy Limited, a Company Owned by L N Mittal

The work for refinery started in 2008 and the refinery became operational in March-2012. Its annual capacity is nine million tons (180,000 barrels per day).It was built at a cost of $4 billion(Rs 21,500-crore)
The GGSR will get its Crude Oil Supply from Mundra, a Coastal Town in Gujarat through a 1,014 km Pipeline, where the Oil is Imported from Abroad.

GGSR is the single largest investment at any location in Punjab and is the first Oil and Gas industry being set up in Punjab.


GGSR was formally inaugurated by PM Manmohan Singh in Bhatinda on Saturday April 28,2012
