Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee celebrations



 The Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II is a multinational celebration throughout 2012 marking the 60th anniversary of the accession of Queen to the thrones of 7 countries upon the death of her father, King George VI on Feb 06,1952.




The Queen delivers address to the nation and the Commonwealth from Buckingham Palace to thank all those behind her Diamond Jubilee celebrations.The Queen wore a pale blue day dress by Karl Ludwig Couture and her stunning Cartier aquamarine and diamond clips, which were an 18th birthday present from her parents in 1944.
‘The events that I have attended to mark my Diamond Jubilee have been a humbling experience.
‘It has touched me deeply to see so many thousands of families, neighbours and friends celebrating together in such a happy atmosphere,’ she said.


The last time the Queen addressed the nation outside her annual Christmas speech was following the death of Princess Diana in 1997.

 The first major event of the jubilee celebrations was the Diamond Jubilee Pageant.The show, which featured 550 horses and 1,100 performers from around the world, was performed on the evenings of 10, 11, 12 and 13 May,2012.

On May 18,2012, the Queen hosted an informal lunch at Windsor Castle for more than twenty current or former monarchs from other countries.

Diamond Jubilee Concert - June 04,2012

The concert was held in the palace gardens for the 10,000 concert ticket holders in front of  Buckingham Palace and featured acts representing each decade of the Queen's 60 year reign.

Queen hosts Commonwealth lunch - Wednesday June 6,2012

The Queen hosted a lunch for Commonwealth leaders, including Prime Minister David Cameron, as this week's Diamond Jubilee celebrations conclude.
The meal, at Marlborough House on Pall Mall, in central London, followed four days of public celebration described by the Queen as "a humbling experience".
She was joined by more than 70 guests, including the Sultan of Brunei.Representatives of the 54 Commonwealth countries attended the lunch.
