India Reclaims Border-Gavaskar Trophy

India win the third Test by six wickets and clinch the four-match series 3-0 against Australia at Mohali on Monday March 18,2013


The victory meant MS Dhoni's side reclaims the Border-Gavaskar Trophy that it relinquished Down Under in a 4-0 Australian sweep in the summer of 2011-12.

Australia have now lost 8 of their last 10 Tests in India
  

By beating Australia by 6 wickets on day five in Mohali on Monday March 18,2013, India not only reclaimed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but also achieved a new high - victory by 3-0 over the Australians.

 In 23 prior series, India had beaten Australia 6 times - all at home. Their best margin of victory was 2-0, achieved in the two-Test series in 2010  

India's first Test series win over Australia came in 1979-80, when they Kim Hughes' depleted side 2-0 in a six-match contest

India's second Test series win was in 1996 when they won a one-off Test in Delhi.  

India's third series win was in 1998, when Mohammad Azharuddin's team beat Australia 2-1

India's fourth  series win over Australia was the epic series of 2001, which India won 2-1 after defeat in the first Test in Mumbai.

India's fifth series win over Australia was the 2-0 win in 2008 (4 Tests)

India's sixth series win over Australia was the 2-0 win in 2010 (2 Tests)
