2013 UEFA Super Cup Eden Stadium, Prague Friday Aug 30,2013


 The 2013 UEFA Super Cup was the 38th UEFA Super Cup, an Annual Football Match Organised by UEFA and contested by the reigning champions of the two main European Club Competitions -
  • UEFA Champions League (Bayern Munich Winners of the 2012 UEFA Champions League Title)
  • UEFA Europa League(Chelsea FC Winners of the 2012 UEFA Europa League Title)
The 2013 UEFA Super Cup was played at the Eden Arena,Prague, Czech Republic on FridayAug 30,2013, and was the first to be held away from the Stade Louis II in Monaco since it became a one-legged match in 1998



Jose Mourinho(Head Coach of Chelsea FC) and Pep Guardiola(Head Coach of Bayern Munich) renew their coaching rivalry when Chelsea meet Bayern Munich in the European Super Cup on Friday
Neither of the two was in charge of the respective sides when Chelsea beat Bayern on penalties for the 2012 Champions League crown, nor when Bayern won the 2013 Champions League and Chelsea the Europa League

But their presence adds extra spice to the game

 A day after winning the UEFA 'Best Player in Europe' award for the 2012-2013 season, Bayern midfielder Ribery looked dangerous throughout and equalised in the 47th minute with an swerving drive from outside the area

Chelsea were left a man down when Ramires was sent off in the 85th minute after receiving his second yellow card for a rough tackle on substitute Mario Goetze



Three minutes into extra time, Eden Hazard picked up the ball on the left flank and cut into the area, leaving two defenders behind before unleashing a powerful drive past Neuer for what looked likely to be the winner in the 93rd minute for Chelsea FC


Chelsea Goalkeeper Peter Cech then pulled off a series of stunning saves as Bayern Munich pressed relentlessly for an equaliser - until Javi Martinez slotted in from close range with the very last kick of extra time and forced a penalty shootout for a result

 Bayern Munich became the first German team to win the UEFA Super Cup

Jose Mourinho has never won the Super Cup while it was the third victory for his fierce rival Pep Guardiola who also won it with Barcelona in 2009 and 2011
