2016 Australian Open Women's Doubles Final - Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza Wins Title Friday January 29, 2016

World number one doubles pair Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza clinched their first Australian Open doubles title together with a 7-6(1) 6-3 victory over Czech pair Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka on Friday January 29,2016

It was the 12th grand slam women's doubles title for Martina Hingis while the third for India's Mirza, all of which have come with the Swiss in the last year.

 

The pair, who have now won 36 successive doubles matches, are also the reigning Wimbledon and US Open champions. 

"Thanks to my partner, we have had an incredible year," Mirza said in a courtside interview. "We keep going and it's great to have all these records with you."

Martina Hingis now has 5 Australian Open women's doubles titles

Martina Hingis won in 1997, 1998 and 1999 with Natasha Zvereva, Mirjana Lucic and Anna Kournikova respectively and again in 2002 with Anna Kournikova.
