England set a new record for the highest team total in ODIs and win the 5-Match Series 3-0


England won the toss and chose to bat first


England piled up a World Record ODI  total of  444/3 against Pakistan after Alex Hales and Jos Buttler ran riot at a sun-kissed Trent Bridge on Tuesday.


Jos Buttler struck the last ball of the innings for four to take Eoin Morgan's men past Sri Lanka's 443 for nine against Netherlands in July 2006.

Alex Hales plundered 171(122 Balls  4c22 and 6x4)the highest individual limited-overs score by an England batsman surpassing Robin Smith's 167 not out against Australia in Birmingham in 1993


Jos Buttler reached his fifty off 22 deliveries, also an England record.

Alex Hales and Joe Root added 248 Runs for the 2nd wicket



England passed their previous highest total of 408/9, made against New Zealand last year, while captain Eoin Morgan 57*(27 Balls 4x3 and 6x5)got to his half-century off 24 deliveries as he and Jos Buttler 90(51 Balls 4x7 and 6x7)shared an unbroken fourth-wicket partnership of 161 Runs



Also Joe Root scored 85(86 Balls 4x8)

In reply set to score 445 Runs,Pakistan were out for 275/1042.4 Overs


  • Pakistan seamer Wahab Riaz's figures of 0-110 are the second most expensive in ODI cricket.
  • Joe Root is the sixth England player to make five consecutive half-centuries.
